October 5, 2016
It is October already!
I hope your summer was interesting, exciting, and blessed in many ways.
Now it is time for the United Methodist Women to meet for a planning meeting to continue Jesus’ work at home and around the world. All women of our church family are welcome to attend the meetings.
October is our annual World Thank offering to be used to continue women and children’s causes.
Operation Christmas Child (shoeboxes) will continue until November 20th. It’s always such fun to shop with your children or grandchildren to fill a shoebox for a boy or girl who has never had the gift of Jesus Christ or a gift of their own in honor of His birth. We will have a final “packing party” on November 12 at 10am. Come, bring any left-overs from your boxes, and help fill more. It is so much fun.
There will be a table in the Narthex with boxes and information for packing. Stop by and pick up one or more boxes. The filled boxes and shipping of $7 per box must be returned to the church on or before November 20. They will be blessed and then delivered to the collection site on November 21.
December will bring us to the all church Christmas Dinner and silent auction. More on this later.
Sounds busy, but it is always done with joy and blessings when we serve our Lord as he would have done. And, you know the old saying, “If you need something done, ask the busiest person to get it done!”
Come be with us on Wednesday, October 5th at 1pm.
